When you turn the ignition on, the glow plugs will light up, then it takes a 20 seconds or so to get VCDS to login to the car, then find the Group you want and start the log. If the ambient temp is below 40deg F or so, be aware that the glow plugs come into play. I replaced the starter and she starts much quicker now. 150rpm is below the generally accepted value of 200-250 for good starting.

You can see I turned the ignition on a 7 secs, hit Start at 9 secs, the starter turned the engine up to about 150rpm, then it started at 12 sec. Below is a log I made as I was diagnosing an issue with my car taking several seconds to start on the first start of the day. You can log starting rpms with VCDS/Vag-com.
